A Spanish company makes plans to travel to the space
in air balloon from the Canary Islands.
The Canary
Islands returns to be protagonist of the tourist space travels. Gran Canaria
has a project to travel around the orbit. They would like to go to space by air
balloon inflated with helium. The Spanish company, located in Barcelona,
Zero2infinity, is studying to develop their project in the Technology Park of
Fuerteventura.
From 2015,
the tourists will go to the space from the island. 36 Km high, to feel the
weightlessness. The price of this travel is 110000 EUR each person.
The “Bloon
Project” of the company Zero2infinity, consists to ascend in a helium air
balloon joined with a cabin. This cabin, has five meters of diameter, has
capacity for four people and two crews. The people will see the space from its
big windows. The travel is six hours long: three hours to go up, two hours to
stay in the space and one hour to descend.
